The team comprised of Isaac Banham, Alex and Lucy Parker, Thomas Webster, Kayleigh Alexander and Lamara Sneddon.

Lamara Sneddon took the pool by storm in her first-ever 50m long course event following last week’s training in the Olympic pool. Lamara took six seconds off her 100m freestyle personal best and is now on coarse to achieve a county qualifying time later in the season.

Isaac Banham won three bronze medals from the four races he entered, while Alex Parker achieved a bronze in the 100m Grade A breaststroke race, and Lucy Parker secured silver in the 100m butterfly in another Grade A race.

Thomas Webster also competed for the first time in a long course event, finishing seventh for his age group in the 100m breaststroke.

It was a very successful day for Skegness ASC against many far bigger clubs. The team head for Grantham and Beverley next weekend in an attempt to build on their medal tally.

Aiden Hawdon had to withdraw from the long course races, due to an injury he sustained earlier in the week, but he made the trip just to support and encourage his fellow team-mates.

The team train at the Embassy Pool on Mondays from 6pm to 7pm, and Thursday and Fridays from 6pm to 8pm.
