There’s no doubt the feel of the meeting has changed since its switch from three days to four to incorporate Saturday.
But the quality remains. Twenty-five races, and not one worth less than £40,000 this year.

Whether your bag is top-quality Group races, richly competitive handicaps or two-year-old contests unearthing the stars of the future, you’ll see it all on the Knavesmire this week.
In response to many requests, I am posting my selections for every race over the four days. These will not be tips for the sake of tipping, but the horses I am backing as a semi-professional punter.
In races where I am keen on more than one horse, alternatives in brackets are given to the main selections. I am aiming to have each day’s advice posted by midnight the previous night.
Not a great day on day two, although if you managed to pinch the morning price of 18/1 about our winner, MUBTAGHAA, and resisted the prohibitive price of TAGHROODA, you might still have made a profit.

Here are my selections for Friday which, of course, is Nunthorpe Day. The Group One sprint itself is a fascinating cracker.
DAY THREE (FRIDAY)
1.55 STOMACHION (Satellite)
2.30 PALE MIMOSA (Estimate)
3.05 ABSOLUTELY SO each/way
3.40 RANGALI (Cougar Mountain, Extortionist)
4.20 DISSOLUTION (Beach Samba)
4.55 MOOHAARIB (Maverick Wave, Extremity)
Now the field has been finalised, interest in Saturday’s Ebor is mounting. I am happy to stand by my ante-post selections, WADI AL HATTAWI and ELIDOR. But MIGHTY YAR has to be respected after sneaking in at the foot of the weights, and I can pass on a strong word, at a big price, for MUTUAL REGARD.
