Tom’s got the habit of winning with 30 victories

THEY say that winning becomes a habit, and DTH Redlands Allsorts star Tom McIntosh has certainly got into some very good habits.

With a perfect record of 30 wins from 30 individual games he has very quickly become the player to beat in Division Three.

Yet another hat-trick from McIntosh not only set the Allsorts team on their way to a comfortable win against DTH Redlands Dynamos but also put them back on top of Division Three, albeit temporarily as Stanley Streets’ 9-1 win over Ryton Park Cougars two days later knocked them back down to second place again.

McIntosh was well supported by Neil Houghton who also won all his three games with Lewis Comley adding two more.

Kash Tutter got the only win of the night for the Dynamos.

Centre For Sport beat a Ryton Park Dragons side who are firmly rooted to the bottom of the Division Three table.

Glen Gillgrass who notched up a hat-trick on the way to only the Sports’ second win of the season.

Declan Wilson with two wins and Sarah Thompson with one brought up the rear with Wilson and Gillgrass teaming up to take the doubles to complete a 7-3 victory.

The scorers for the Dragons were Justin Flear (two) and Andrew Bell.

Other results: Stanley Street B 9 Ryton Park Cougars 1, DTH Redlands Rookies 3 DTH Redlands Tarr Babies 7.

DIVISION ONE

GLOBAL Marble have gone three games unbeaten, a run that has seen them almost certainly secure their Division One status for next season.

Their latest good result came against Stanley Street A.

Global’s Kalpesh Bhatt and Steve Lyons did the damage in a 9-1 win both scoring hat-tricks with Kartik Lakhani registering a double.

The only joy for Stanley Street came in the shape of a win for Tommy Dove against Lakhani.

Stanley Street fielded their specialist doubles pairing of Peter Eyre and Nigel Stent but they came up against in form Bhatt and Lyons and went down in straight sets.

Bottom side Ryton Park Adders went down 8-2 to DTH Redlands Outlaws and have now lost all of their nine matches this season.

For the Outlaws Dave Capewell and Terry Emmerson hit top form both winning three sets each.

Andy Lee and John Hallgarth for the Adders both beat Helmuth Osbourne but it wasn’t enough to break their losing run.

Osbourne beat Carl Stones for his single win of the night and then teamed up with Emmerson to beat Hallgarth and Lee in the doubles.

Other result: Ryton Park Bees 3 MBE 7.

DIVISION TWO

JOHN Lowde’s Manton Sports fought out a terrific 5-5 draw against second placed Ryton Park Eagles.

The Eagles’ Gary Scott won all of this three games and with both Joanne Drew and Richard Robinson chipped in with a win each.

For Manton Sports Lowde scored a double with Alan Wilson and Keith Smith both getting one win each.

Lowde and Smith then teamed up in the doubles to beat the surprise pairing of Drew and Robinson for the Eagles.

THE Worksop and District Table Tennis League are sad to announce the death of one our players.

Tommy Dove who played with Stanley Street A passed away suddenly this morning.

Although this was only Tommy’s third season in our league he had made many new friends in Worksop in a short space of time and was very well liked by all players he came up against.

Tommy also played in the Mansfield and District League. Our thoughts are with all of his family and close friends at this very difficult time – Tommy will be greatly missed.
