The Red and Greens will be eager to put behind them the disappointment of their 29-12 home defeat to Paviors last time out as they attempt to put daylight between themselves and the Midlands One East relegation zone.

But they face what is, on paper at least, their toughest test of the season on Saturday as they travel to league leaders Bedford Athletic (kick-off 2.15pm).

Bedford have won all but one league match this season and boast a 100 per cent record on home turf.

Their sole reverse came at second-placed Derby back in mid-September when they were beaten 31-20.

With eight games of the season left, Rasen and Louth are fourth-bottom, four points clear of second-bottom Newark and just two ahead of Matlock whose scheduled game in hand against Newbold-on-Avon was postponed on Saturday.

The Red and Greens are due to visit Matlock on the final day of the season.
