She played very well in the Midlands County Tour grade three event.

Poppy won the tournament, coming through a three setter in both the semi-final and the final.

There was a tournament scheduled to be held at Boston Tennis Club over the festive period.

The Christmas and New Year grade four tournament was slimmed down and only the under 14 girls’ event was played.

The event was won by the number one seed who is a Lincoln player.

Boston Tennis Club members Poppy and Sophie Munks, having lost their first matches, made it through to the consolation final to face one another.

It was a very close match, going to a third set tie-break, which was won by Sophie.

Boston Tennis Club is fortunate to have courts for all seasons and the clay and tiger turf surfaces are both holding up very well to the weather.

Of course the main pull at this time of the year are normally the indoor courts.

For a short period between the second national lockdown in November and the recent imposition of tier four restrictions the Sleaford Road indoor courts were able to be used for individual lessons and within households and also for some competition.
