For she was the first female home in the prestigious Woodhall Spa Triathlon, which was held at the end of last month.

Grocock clocked a time of one hour, 11 minutes, 20 seconds to finish a highly respectable 43rd overall in a huge field of about 700 competitors.

Her individual times were 7.57 minutes (including transition) for the 400m swim, 41.43 minutes for the 24k bike-ride and 19.49 minutes for the concluding 5k run.

Grocock has been competing in triathlons for three years now, and has proved to be so successful that she represented Team GB in 2014 and 2015. Now she is toying with the idea of trying a new challenge by tackling open-water swimming in an effort to add more strings to her sporting bow.
