Trio claim mish-mash golf victory

A total of 27 ladies enjoyed a pleasant day on the Boston Golf Club course Wednesday, competing in a three-ball mish-mash.

All three ladies counted on par threes two counting on par twos and one on the par fives.

In the extremely wet conditions, the winning team were Jean Markham, Fran Grant and Ann Gullick with 34 stableford points.

The runners-up were Pam Hyde, Lady Captain Ruth Simpson and Val Simpson with 32 points.

At the recent AGM the Lady President and Lady Captain stood down and handed over their badges to the new incoming Lady President Barbara Unwin and Lady Captain Ruth Simpson.

Other titles: Vice Captain - Yvonne Shaffarczyk, Past Captain - Pam Clare, Secretaries - Kath Yates and Ruth Simpson, Treasurer - Pam Hyde, Handicap Secretary - Ann Hodgson, Competition Secretary - Hilary Calvert, Committee members - Jean Markham, Ann Gullick, Joan Young, Jacquie Short, Lynn Worthington, Isobel Pikett.

The Ladies and Senior Men paired up for an in-house Am-Am.

Competing in teams of four with two counting on every hole, the winning team were Jean Markham, Isobel Pikett, Ken Short and Terry Rollinson with 61 stableford points.

The runners-up were Fran Grant, Kay Kadzionis, Phil Thomas and Keith James with 60 points.

The competition was played over reduced holes.

A cheque for £2,529 was presented by past Captains’ Philip Sale and Pam Clare to their chosen charity, The Salvation Army.
