The 19-year-old recorded rounds of 70 and 74 to comfortably make the cut from a 200-strong field which started the tournament.

Bad weather reduced the tournament to 54 holes rather than the scheduled 72, and Turner made a stunning start to the third, and what proved to be, final round.

He completed the front nine in 32 after hitting a hot streak approaching the turn of four birdies in five holes.

Three bogeys and a birdie on the back nine removed some of the gloss, but he still carded his best round of the week, a two-under round of 69, to finish on one-under for the tournament for a share of 29th place.

South Korean golfer Seung-bo Jang was the overall winner with a nine-under total.

Turner has consistently performed during the tour while representing the England men’s team.

He began with a 17th place finish at the Australian Master of the Amateurs Championship at Melbourne and was the only Englishman to reach the last 16 of the Australian Men’s Amateur Championships the following weekend in Victoria.

He registered another excellent result of 14th overall from a 132-strong field at the Lake Macquarie Amateur before completing the four-week tour at the NSW Amateur.

Turner now returns to Lincolnshire to prepare for the English domestic season and further international commitments with the national team.
