McIntosh began the night in the Cadet final, facing his brother and defending champion Kyle.

Despite taking the first game in the best of five contest, Kyle was unable to stop his brother, who won the next three games to clinch the title for the first time.

In the Boys Under 12 final McIntosh had things a little more his own way with a straight sets, 11-7, 11-5, 11-1 victory over Lewis Comley, who had done well to reach the final.

Lyon also qualified for two finals , the first one against Dave Capewell in the Over 60’s match, and the Global Marble player took no time at all in comfortably dispatching Capewell in straight sets.

But in the Over 50’s final he came up against an in-form Joe Zygadlo in a match that was to go all the way to a deciding fifth set.

Lyon took the first set only for Zygadlo to fight back and lead 2- 1.

Back came Lyon to square the match to take it into a deciding set, which he took 11-9 to claim his second title of the night.

On a good night for Global Marble players Kerry Radford reached two finals of her own, but despite comfortably winning the Ladies Singles title against Amber Zygadlo, she couldn’t quite repeat the feat in the Handicap Singles against Clive Eden.

Eden was awarded a start due to the handicapping system and Radford just couldn’t claw it back, eventually losing in straight sets.

Another Global player Kalpesh Bhatt reached the Draw Doubles final and was paired with last season’s Open Singles champion Richard Wesley.

The duo, who took on Tom Wesley and Alex Millward, didn’t take long to gel and soon raced away with the final, taking it in straight sets.

The last final of the night was the Over 40’s clash between Joe Zygadlo and Chris Cattell, a close and intriguing contest throughout.

Zygadlo took the first game 11-9 but Cattell took the next three games 13-11, 15-13, 11-8 to eventually grind out the win and take the title.
