Worksop: Turner braves the monsoon rain and mud for good Hardwick result
Torrential rain produced track conditions akin to an Amazonian swamp, and ensured the competitors would require supreme bike handling skills in order to remain upright.
Andy Moore Autocentres Racing Team rider Adam Turner used the event as a training session, to provide a contrast to his usual road schedule.

Hide AdAnd despite working to a low threshold target, the local rider finished comfortably in the top15, having piloted his Giant Cross Bike around the slippery course without incident.
The event was extremely well supported by local riders, and many Bolsover and District CC members were involved, putting on a good show for those hardy souls who braved the elements in order to spectate.
Team Manager Andy Moore praised the organisers for their efforts.
“Bolsover and District Cycling Club deserve much credit for running the event despite the weather conditions,” he said,

Hide Ad“For so many volunteers to give their time to support the riders on a day like today was good to see.”
“Adam used today as part of his scheduled training, and enjoyed every minute of it.”
“The greatest achievement of the day is that he managed to persuade anyone to transport him home, in view of his post race appearance.”

Retford and District Wheelers club run this Sunday (16th November) will be to Southwell.

Hide AdThe club are organising two distinct groups, one of which will allow for a slower ride for or those who may be not so fit or would prefer a more comfortable pace.
Both groups will meet in Retford market square at 9.30am.
The distance will be about 50 miles and the route will be undulating.
Riders of all abilities are invited to join the regulars, you will receive a warm welcome.
