Wright stuff! Hermione and William in schools cross country success

Frithville brother and sister Hermione and William Wright ran for South Derbyshire in the Derbyshire Schools Cross Country Championships at Tupton Hall, near Chesterfield, on Saturday.

Hermione claimed bronze medal in the senior girls’ race after completing a gruelling and muddy 4k course.

She has now qualified to compete for Derbyshire Schools for the second time in the English Schools’ Cross Country finals at Woolaton Park, Nottingham, in March.

Younger brother William ran an excellent race, leading at the start to be pipped on the line in 13th position out a pack of 119 runners in the 3.5k intermediate boys’ race.

He was first home for South Derbyshire, being an improvement on his third place in the South Derbyshire Championships earlier in the season.
