Youngsters help swimmers with their fundraising bid

This year sees Skegness ASC undertake their biggest fundraising challenge as a club as they aim to raise £12,000.

The cash would see all the team’s youngsters sent on a week’s residential swim camp at the University of Nottingham.

This project would allow children the best possible advantage when competing in the future.

The swim camp will aim to improve the individual swimmers’ technique and endurance.​

Casey Wain, 10, who regularly trains with the club, decided that she should do her bit to help raise funds.

So, together with her little sister Millie, four, and mum Suzy, they spent Friday baking cakes.

With the aid of fellow swimmer Temira Miles, 14, they invited a host of family and friends round to buy some of their produce.

Between them, they raised £71.16 for the appeal.

Casey and Temira even managed to save a few cakes to take to club that night for their fellow teammates to enjoy.

The club has already raised £2,000 towards the swim camp and many more fundraising events have 
been planned for the year ahead.
