Youngsters match their senior gym counterparts

Not to be outdone by the recent outstanding success of Worksop Gymnastics Club’s senior squad, younger members of the club have had their own share of medals lately.

In the Regional Junior Grades Millie Davison became Grade 14 Champion with distinction, whilst distinctions were also achieved by Daisy Davies, Jessica Carroll, and Aimee Mellors.

Rose Forrest also passed Grade 14 and Abigail Powell passed Grade 13 with distinction.

In the boys competition William Pasturel, also aged six, won a bronze medal.

Yvonne Monks, head coach at Worksop Gymnastics Club, told the Guardian the youngsters did well in their first competitive outing.

She said: “In an event that saw nearly 200 competitors from all over the East Midlands these were considerable achievements as this was also their first competition.”
