Almost time for Sleaford Live so book your seat

Organisers of this year's Sleaford Live music and arts festival now have a full programme of events, with booklets being distributed around the area.

Fifty-plus live events will be happening in and around Sleaford, including music, dance, comedy, poetry and art from April 29 to May 8.

You can also learn how to play the ukulele, guitar and recorder and there is even a stone carving workshop at the National Centre for Craft and design.

Keith Collishaw from the Sleaford Live Committee said: “Well over 50 groups and individuals are performing during the 10 day period. Most events are free and do not need booking.”

Tickets are needed for the four featured events:

l Folk duo Winter Wilson, playing at Sleaford Playhouse (on Westgate) on Saturday, April 30, at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 from Chatterton’s (Market place) or the Playhouse website email: [email protected].

l Pennyless will be playing at Sleaford Playhouse on Friday, May 6, at 8pm. Tickets £10 from Chatterton’s or the Playhouse website.

l Elvis impersonator Mike Shelby and Rhythm Express will be on stage at St George’s Academy Hall (on Westgate) on Friday May 6. Tickets £10 from Appetites (Southgate) or the Sleep shop (Carre Street), or Imageville (Fen Road Industrial Estate, Ruskington).

l Experience the big band swing with Miller Magic at the Masonic Rooms, Watergate, on Sunday, May 8, at 7pm. Tickets £6 from Wilcox and Carter (Bristol Arcade).

You also need to pay for the stone carving workshop at the NCCD. The fee is £50. Book through the NCCD.
