The four band members of The Element have been playing and gigging together for a year and are all students at St George’s Academy.

They have found themselves separated from each other since schools were closed on March 19. Instead, the traditional rock and roll band have managed to record a cover version of the T-Rex hit, I Love To Boogie, recording in four separate houses then putting it together.

William’s proud mum Angela said: “The band had many gigs booked that have unfortunately been postponed due to Covid-19.

“As they can had no longer rehearse they decided to record a new song by each recording their instrument pieces on their phones and then putting the song altogether via an app called Cute CUT.”

The parents of the band then decided to challenge the boys to do a song of their choice and post back on their whats app page. So far they have done Shadow Play by Joy Division, Layla - Eric Clapton, Space Odyssey - David Bowie, Don’t Look Back Into the Sun - The Libertines and are currently doing Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.

They hope to use some when they begin performing together again.
