A Boston hotel has announced it is launching a new charity quiz night, with the first event taking place this month.

The events at The Quayside Hotel, on London Road, are all in aid of the Lincolnshire Community Assistance Team (L-CAT).

With just a £2 donation per person to enter, this promises to be a night of entertainment, friendly competition, and most importantly, community giving.

Overlooking Boston’s historic riverside, The Quayside Hotel has long been recognised for its commitment to community spirit, from opening its doors to fire victims and emergency service personnel during major incidents, to regularly donating to local causes.

All proceeds from the quiz night will go to L-CAT, a registered charity made up entirely of volunteers who work directly alongside Lincolnshire’s emergency services and the Local Resilience Forum. L-CAT is called into action during crisis situations such as floods, snow, storms, and other major incidents, helping to ensure public safety, support emergency response efforts, and reopen roads and infrastructure as quickly as possible. Their work is vital in protecting lives and restoring normality in challenging circumstances.

A spokesperson for L-CAT said: “We’re incredibly grateful to The Quayside Hotel and Smartmove Hotels UK for their support. Every pound raised helps us stay mission-ready – from ensuring we have the right equipment to deploying when our communities need us most. Community events like this not only raise essential funds but also raise awareness about the vital role we play during local emergencies.”

Charlize Arundell, Director of Smartmove Hotels UK Limited, the company behind The Quayside Hotel, added: “We believe in showing up for our community when it counts. Launching this quiz night is just another way we can bring people together while supporting the remarkable work L-CAT does across Lincolnshire. We’re proud to do our part.”

Alongside the satisfaction of supporting a great cause, there are some fantastic prizes to be won, including: gift vouchers for the hotel’s highly popular carvery, bottles of wine, and round-by-round prizes, giving every team a chance to walk away with something.

The first quiz kicks off at 7.30pm on Friday, April 25. Teams of up to six are welcome, with doors open early for drinks and socialising.
