International artists from Australia, Norway, Latvia, Japan and the USA are all exhibiting their contemporary tapestry pieces in the Main Gallery at NCCD.
Here & Now is challenging the notion that tapestry is a dying craft, and demonstrates how the art of tapestry still holds a firm place as being contemporary and relevant on a global scale.
Bryony added: “It is a privilege to dedicate NCCD’s main gallery to international stars who are creating inspiring, provocative, exquisite and daring tapestries of our time.”
There will be private viewings on September 30 from 6pm, and a talk with exhibitor Caron Penney on October 1. Caron will also be leading a tapestry weaving workshop on October 1, costing £49 with materials provided. The NCCD opens 7 days a week, 10am to 5pm, and to find out more call 01529 308710 or email [email protected]
