Epworth Remembers with artwork.

Visitors from the Isle viewed an exhibition of art, photographs, artefacts and poetry on the theme of ‘Epworth Remembers’ on Saturday.

People poured in to the Wesley Memorial Church Schoolroom to see the current displays, and to watch an audio visual presentation on World War One, that was run five times throughout the day.

Copies of the memorial book put together by Epworth’s Bob Fish were on sale for the first time, telling the stories and personal backgrounds of soldiers from Epworth who died during the First World War.

Mr Fish said: “We had a large number of visitors who enjoyed the chance to see the paintings and exhibits, and just share stories and anecdotes.

“We saw quite a few distant relatives and I managed to list several contacts that will progress my research and provide information that can be archived in our collection.”
