Fashion show raises funds for good cause

Andy’s is the only hospice of its kind in Lincolnshire.

Deborah Homer, manager of Andy’s charity shop in Sleaford, worked with St George’s Academy students Kerry Brown, Daisy Hall, Courtney Luther, Leah Winson, Mason Mansfield, Charlotte Hancock and Jacob Brunt to organise a fashion show for the hospice.

The show was part of a week’s work experience, so pupils had to get everything ready for the event quickly.

The students chose items of clothing from the shop, and brought in clothes from home to feature on the catwalk.

Students also approached local businesses to get prizes for a raffle, which took place at the show held earlier this year at the academy.

Attendees were parents, residents and a representative from Andy’s ZaZa Warren.

ZaZa said: “It was a pleasure to work with such enthusiastic and bright young people. This event helped raise the profile of the children’s hospice within the local area.”

In total, £260 was raised, and the donation has been presented to the hospice.

The students said: “It was really fun organising the event, working as a team but having full responsibility of the show. We are so happy with the amount we raised for Andy’s.”
