Heckington Show to go ahead this year as a one day event

Last year the show could not go ahead due to Covid restrictions on numbers and distancing, but a virtual event was held online, along with a community produce show for the village.

The show committee has announced via social media and its website that this year it plans to continue with the event but scale it back to one day.

They said: “Following the recent government announcement we are delighted to announce that there will be a Heckington Show in 2021. We are planning a smalle,r one day show with firework concert in the evening on Saturday July 24.”

they added: “We are keen for people to be involved, so are planning as many of our usual events as possible, only on a smaller scale with reduced numbers.

“Due to Covid we have also reduced the number of enclosed spaces and marquees at the show and focussed our main ring programme on our usual competitions.”

The committee said the decision is based on the Government’s road-map which is targeting allowing outdoor gatherings such as the show in Stage 4 after June 21.

“The situation will be regularly reviewed and we will only go ahead with the show if we can do so safely and legally in accordance with all Government guidance and regulations in force at the time.
