Highly praised international trio to give concert at Louth church

Three passionate, young musicians from different parts of the globe are to give a concert in Louth later this month.

The Delphine Trio will comprise clarinetist Kenny Keppel, who is originally from New Zealand, Dutch cellist Jobine Siekman and pianist Roelof Temmingh, from South Africa.

They combine individual instrumental talent with a strong commitment to offering audiences a diverse repertoire, which will be on show for all to see at St James’s Church on Westgate on Saturday, June 27 (3 pm).

In the concert, which has been organised by Louth and District Concert Society, their programme will include pieces by Beethoven, Kenneth Leighton, Carl Frühling and John Psathas.

The Delphine Trio, founded in 2020 at the Royal College of Music in London, were winners of the 2025 Royal Overseas League Competition in the mixed ensembles category, and they have recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios, also in London.

In February 2024, they released their debut album, ‘Adrift’, with Dutch label TRPTK, and it was highly praised for “shining a light on some beautiful hidden gems of the clarinet trio repertoire”.

UK music festivals and series that the trio have performed at include Buxton International Festival, Banstead Arts Festival, the Kensington and Chelsea Music Society Concert Series and the Royal Albert Hall Classical Coffee Morning Series.

They were also commissioned by the Gustav Mahler Society UK to perform arrangements of Mahler’s ‘Rückert-Lieder’, alongside tenor Zwakele Mshengu-Tshabalala and Maja Horvat, a long-term collaborator of the trio.
