The launch of the new showground in Skegness at the VE75 Festival is the ambition of Skegness Grosvenor Hotel owner Russ Sparkes.

East Lindsey District Council gave approval for change of use of the 16-acre site on Burgh Road in September last year.

Next to the showground, there are also plans for a two-and-a-half acre campsite to support the events, with car parking for more than 850 vehicles.

Commenting on the new venture, he said: "We are delighted to announce further details about our launch event, the VE75 Festival - especially as it commemorates such an important time in history.
