The fourth annual Lakes Festival will see the British pop-rock band joined by two other international groups and a variety of local acts for the event.

Last summer, the Lakes brought Slade and X Factor finalists Only The Young to their popular event.

This year they are set to go one better, according to Lakes owner and festival organiser Jose Giraldez.

“Scouting for Girls will probably be the biggest band we have ever had round here and we’re very excited,” he said.

“We also have The Shires - a big country and western music duo who are becoming massive in England and have been doing really well in America too.”

Four-time Brit nominees Scouting for Girls are best known for their songs, She’s So lovely, Elvis Aint Dead, and This Aint a Love Song- the latter reaching number one in the UK charts. The festival takes place at Sycamore Lakes Park, Skegness Road, on Friday, July 15, from 6pm-10.30pm and Saturday, July 16, from 2.30pm.

Scouting for Girls will play on the 15th, accompanied by a Norweigan group who Mr Giraldez says are likely to ‘steal the show.”

“We have ‘Them Lewis Boys’ from Norway - a rock band who play some really great stuff. They have a grand piano on stage - which they set on fire. I think they could steal the show.”

Various local acts including popular Boston rock group Revolver will also play on the Friday.

On Saturday, the Shires will take centre stage following various performances from local and UK-wide acts, yet to be confirmed. A big fireworks display will then finish the night off in style.

There will be a beer tent and food hall to keep festival-goers refreshed and an opportunity for people to camp on site. Tickets cost £28 for the Friday and £23 for the Saturday. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
