Trio mark anniversary

The Crossing in Worksop is celebrating its seventh anniversary in fine musical style tomorrow with the newly-formed female trio Sinopia.

The London-based group chose their unusual name because of their hair colour. Sinopia means a reddish-brown pigment.

Former Worksop College assistant director of music Richard Leach accompanies the trio, who are mezzo-soprano Phillipa Thomas, and sopranos Marianne Wright and Kirsten Barker.

The Crossing’s concert programmer David Jordan said: “The sound produced by a top notch female vocal trio is out of this world and it will be a wide-ranging programme.”

Their performance begins at the Newcastle Street venue at 7.30pm, doors open at 6.45pm.

Tickets are £9, concessions £8, under-16s £4, and are available from The Crossing’s welcome desk or by calling 475421 or emailing [email protected].
