Comprising 80 walks, with a quarter in North Kesteven, the event runs from September 24 to October 30 and features a range of distances and terrains for people to enjoy.

The festival, back for a second year, has been organised by Heritage Lincolnshire with walks taking place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to enable everyone to be able to take part. Many of the strolls are free and are led by organisations such as the Ramblers, Walking for Health and the RSPB.

Coun Lindsey Cawrey, NKDC Executive Board Member for Arts and Leisure, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to make the most of getting outdoors and taking part in these led walks.

“There’s something on offer for all ages and abilities so whether you’re more of a social stroller or serious hiker there will be a walk to suit you.

“Walking is one of the best things you can do for your physical health and your mental health so why not take a look and see what’s on offer.

“I’m sure there will be an event that not only gets you active, but also helps you to discover some of the wonderful places in and around the district.”
