Asda Boston colleagues shine at Boston Running Festival

Asda Boston brought community spirit, determination and plenty of smiles to this year’s Boston Running Festival

Asda Boston brought community spirit, determination and plenty of smiles to this year’s Boston Running Festival on Sunday April 12, with a lively team of five colleagues proudly taking part in the 10k event.

The day began in the beautifully maintained Central Park, a much‑loved local landmark with a rich history stretching back to the eighteenth century when it served as a private deer park. Since becoming a public space in 1919, it has welcomed generations of local residents - and on Sunday, it provided the perfect backdrop as runners set off to cheers from supporters.

The 10k route took participants on a scenic tour through the heart of Boston, heading out towards Skirbeck before opening up onto peaceful country roads. From there, runners enjoyed the picturesque surroundings of Fishtoft village and Bladon Estate, soaking in the spring sunshine as they made their way back into town. The finish line at the Boston College campus was buzzing with excitement as friends, family and colleagues greeted the returning runners, each receiving a well‑earned finisher’s medal and commemorative t‑shirt.

Asda Boston’s Community Champion, Stephen Bromby, spoke proudly about the team’s efforts. “The runs are a great opportunity to promote mental and physical wellbeing in the workplace, build teamwork and raise money for good causes while having fun,” he said.

Supporting charitable causes is at the heart of Asda’s values, and the Boston store is especially passionate about the company’s long‑standing breast cancer charity partnership, Tickled Pink.

Together with Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!, Tickled Pink works to ensure early diagnosis, raise awareness and support anyone affected by the disease. The campaign encourages everyone - guys, gals and non‑binary pals - to get into the habit of checking their chests regularly, making it as normal as picking up your weekly essentials at Asda.

The Boston store is proudly fundraising for the cause and has launched an online donations page for anyone wishing to contribute to life‑changing research, education and support services. Donations can be made at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/26-tickledpink-5892-AsdaBoston

A huge congratulations goes to Asda Boston’s fantastic 10k team: Paul Robinson, Bartosz Jasik, Sarah Clarke, Nicole Mason and Stephen Bromby.
