Gainsborough's Cody Glen is preparing to represent Great Britain once again after being selected to compete at the Junior World Taekwondo Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Cody will be in action on Monday, April 13, where he will take to the mat against some of the best junior athletes in the world. His fights will also be streamed live on YouTube, allowing supporters, family and friends to follow his progress and cheer him on from home.

This latest selection marks another major milestone in Cody’s Taekwondo journey and reflects the continued progress he is making at elite international level. To be chosen to represent Great Britain at a World Championships is a significant achievement and highlights the hard work, commitment and determination he continues to show both in training and in competition.
A key moment in Cody’s journey this year came in Austria in February, where he produced an impressive performance to win a bronze medal. That result played an important part in securing his selection to represent Great Britain at the Junior World Taekwondo Championships and was a clear reward for the dedication he has shown in both training and competition.
As part of his final preparations for the championships, Cody has also just completed a week-long training camp at the GB Academy in Manchester. The camp brought together top athletes and coaches as part of the national team’s build-up to the event, providing valuable preparation ahead of competing on the world stage and the demands of world-level competition.
Cody has already gained valuable experience competing at some of the sport’s biggest events. Most recently, he represented Great Britain at the European Championships held in Switzerland in November 2025, where he faced some of Europe’s top young competitors. He also competed at the prestigious Dutch Open Taekwondo Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands, where he showed great fighting ability, resilience and composure against high-level international opposition.
In a closely contested bout at the Dutch Open, Cody narrowly lost to an athlete from Saudi Arabia who went on to secure the bronze medal in the division, underlining the level at which Cody is now performing.
Cody Glen has has now been selected for two major Champinships which is an amazing achievement and honour, hard work and dedication does pay.
Everyone supporting Cody will be wishing him the very best as he heads to Uzbekistan to wear the Great Britain colours once again. His selection is a proud moment and another important step in what continues to be a very promising Taekwondo journey.
Good luck Team GB
