Lincolnshire star nurse receives national award
A team from Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) nominated their line manager for a national award after she managed them so well.

Staff from the Lincolnshire Post-Covid Rehabilitation Service put forward Danielle Albon, their clinical team leader, for a Cavell Star Award in the colleague’s category.
Her nomination was to reflect the amazing commitment, and support Danielle showed the team, always advocating for them and showing the utmost compassion for the team. Danielle brought real cohesion to this team and guided the team of 12, through some challenging times. This included changes within the service, in addition to a reduction in staffing.
Danielle from Lincoln said: “I was so proud to receive this award. It was a complete surprise and very lovely of my colleagues to nominate me.
“Working with the Post-Covid team has been the highlight of my career; they are committed, compassionate, and the best team I have ever had the privilege of working alongside. I can’t thank them enough for inspiring me to be the best leader I could be.”
Cavell Star Awards is a national programme that celebrates the dedication of nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare assistants and recognises the exceptional care they provide to patients, families, and colleagues. Any nurse, midwife, healthcare assistant, maternity support worker or nursing associate can be nominated for an award.
Lewis Allett, Chief Executive at Cavell, explains: “The Cavell Support team is here for nursing and midwifery staff when they’re in a crisis, so we are really excited that the Cavell Star Awards are proving so successful at boosting morale for teams working extremely hard in challenging situations.”
Danielle’s team said she is very deserving of this award, and they were delighted the team at Cavell whole heartedly agreed.
