Louth care home’s ‘Good’ CQC report hails manager’s positive impact
Inspectors at the Care Quality Commission (CQC) have praised the impact of the new manager at Madeira House Care Home in their latest report.
The Advinia Healthcare home on High Holme Road, in Louth, has been given a ‘Good’ rating across all five inspection criteria, with significant praise given to manager Julie Esprit.

The inspectors spoke to residents, relatives and staff who said Julie had fostered ‘a positive working culture which contributed to people having positive experiences’.
In the report they wrote: “One relative told us, ‘The referral situation was brilliant and smooth. The registered manager was fantastic, they came to do the assessment at the
hospital and spoke with [relative] and the nurse, they both loved [registered manager].’
“One relative told us, “[Registered manager] is a brilliant manager. It is because of [them] that things have improved. I cannot praise [them] enough.”
There was also excellent feedback from the team at Madeira House when asked about working at the service.
The inspector wrote: “One staff member said, ‘Everyone is like a big family and treated with respect. Genuine kindness. They ask if I can help and I do.’ Another staff member said, “All staff are caring, and we are family.”
“The registered manager was passionate about the service, people and the staff. They demonstrated genuine compassion for others and supported the service to develop a positive learning culture. As a result of their efforts, we found the service was on a development journey, and significant improvements had been made.”
Following the report, Julie said that she and her team are delighted to have achieved the ‘Good’ rating across all areas.
Julie said: “Everyone at Madeira House is incredibly proud of our ‘Good’ rating and so they should be, this has been a true team effort.
“Every member of our ‘Madeira Family’ is intergral to our success and I want to thank each and every person for their contribution.
“The residents are at the heart of everything we do and our focus continues to be on supporting them to lead fulfilling lives while providing the highest standard of care.”
