Move your way to raise vital funds for dogs who have been abandoned, neglected, or mistreated

There’s just three weeks to go until the return of Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s fundraising challenge, 60 Miles in May.

The charity is encouraging people to move their way to raise vital funds for rescue dogs in need. Dogs like Enid, who was found wandering the streets heavily pregnant.

When Enid arrived at Jerry Green Dog Rescue, she was confused and terrified as her body prepared to give birth for the first time. Thanks to generous donations, the charity was able to give her the safety and comfort she needed.

After a long and exhausting night, Enid brought four beautiful puppies into the world. Today, Enid and all four of her puppies continue to thrive in their forever homes. The charity explains that it’s thanks to supporters who take part in fundraising challenges like 60 Miles in May, that Enid and her family found their second chances.

One of Enid’s puppies, Toffee, was adopted by Rebecca, who wanted to go the extra mile to support Jerry Green Dog Rescue.

“The work that Jerry Green Dig Rescue does is so important. Without them, Enid, Toffee, and his three sisters would still be on the streets. Who knows if the puppies would have even survived.” Shared Rebecca, Toffee’s adopter. “This is why I’m taking part in 60 Miles in May, to support the charity in finding forever families for the dogs in their care.”

Rebecca is joining Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s community of dog owners and dog lovers in raising money to help the charity continue to find safe, loving homes for dogs in need.

This challenge has been designed with inclusivity in mind, welcoming all ages and abilities, whether participants decide to embark on this journey individually, with family and friends, or as part of a corporate team, this initiative offers a unique opportunity to make a difference for rescue dogs like Enid and her puppies, one mile at a time.

Rebecca shared her plans on how she will be completing the challenge, “I will mainly be using my manual wheelchair to complete my 60 miles, in addition to some walking. I urge anyone who can, to join in raising money for a worthwhile cause.”

Supporters will receive milestone fundraising rewards throughout the challenge. A tracker T-shirt will be awarded to all participants who raise £30, which is perfect for tracking progress throughout the month. A sleek Jerry Green Dog Rescue 60 Miles in May water bottle will be earned once £250 has been raised, and all participants will receive an exclusive medal and certificate of appreciation upon completion of the challenge.

The funds raised from 60 Miles in May will support Jerry Green Dog Rescue’s work towards its vision of a world where every dog has a good life, and a safe, loving home. Therefore, the charity encourages anyone who wants to challenge themselves, whether that's by running, walking, wheeling, swimming or a combination, to take part.
