Nunsthorpe springs to life with family fun day
The ‘Easter Family Fun Day’ was co-hosted by Oasis Community Space and other community partners during the school holidays, including Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP), Nunsthorpe Family Hub, St Mark’s Church, Centre 4, Community Shop, The Nunsthorpe Tavern, and Humberside Police.

An activity trail spanned the neighbourhood with a variety of interactive stations hosted by local organisations from 10am to 2pm.
Attendees began their day at the Oasis centre on Sutcliffe Avenue, where they collected maps outlining the trail route and the activity stops located along the way.

LHP hosted its own stall inside St Mark’s Church, where colleagues helped participants to decorate Easter-themed plant pots and handed out sunflower seeds to take home and grow.
Other activities from the day included customising tote bags, sowing seeds, crafting miniature Easter gardens, and solving Easter-themed puzzles.
Families also enjoyed a special visit from the Easter Bunny, who stopped by to say hello and pose for photos.
At the end of the day, guests each took home an Easter egg, along with other Easter-themed treats, which were donated by Bannatyne Health Club and building maintenance contractor and long-time LHP partner Fortem Solutions.

Dean Shipp, Project Manager at Fortem, said: “Fortem are delighted to contribute to the recent Easter event in Nunsthorpe. Working in partnership with LHP, we recognise the significant impact these events have on the local community and look forward to providing continued support at these and similar events in the future.”
The Easter trail was a hit among guests of all ages. One child described it as the “best day ever”, while another said they had “always wanted to meet the Easter Bunny”.
Emma Coxon, Community Leader at the Oasis Community Space, said: “It was wonderful to see the Oasis Community Space buzzing with families as they set off on the Easter trail. Days like this really highlight how important it is to create welcoming, inclusive activities for our neighbourhood, and we’re proud to have played a part in bringing everyone together.”
Nicola Ebdon, Executive Director of Governance and Regulation at LHP, said: “It was great to see our colleagues work alongside our community partners to deliver a fun event for local families. The Easter trail encouraged people to get out and about in the neighbourhood, and the wide range of activities meant there was something for everyone.
“The response from participants was very positive, our LHP Easter Bunny was a real hit and the atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic!”
