St George’s Day celebrated in style with live music and community spirit
“St George’s Day gave us a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate, and create special memories for our residents"
Residents and staff at Newton House Care Home, came together to celebrate St George’s Day in wonderful style with an afternoon full of music, laughter, and community spirit.

The celebration was made extra special by live entertainment from the incredible Jules, whose fantastic performance had residents singing along, clapping, dancing, and thoroughly enjoying the occasion.
The event created a joyful atmosphere throughout the home, bringing people together to celebrate the day with traditional favourites, shared memories, and plenty of smiles.
Music plays an important role in promoting wellbeing, social connection, and meaningful engagement for residents, particularly those living with dementia, and the afternoon proved to be a great success.
Head of activities Karen Olivant said: “St George’s Day gave us a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate, and create special memories for our residents. Jules brought fantastic energy to the day, and it was lovely to see everyone so engaged, happy, and enjoying themselves.”
Newton House, continues to provide a wide range of person-centred activities and events that support residents’ emotional wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.
