Sunny Scunny: Evri Group launches brand-new parcel lockers in Scunthorpe with nod to local community pride
Leeds-headquartered Evri Group, the UK’s premier parcel delivery company, has unveiled its brand-new parcel lockers in Scunthorpe, this is one of the first of hundreds of new locations being rolled out across the region this year. These lockers bring locals a fast, easy and reliable way to send, return and collect parcels – complete with a personalised local greeting.

The new locker location at Morrisons Petrol Forecourt on Lakeside Parkway, Scunthorpe, DN16 3UU has a local reference ‘Sunny Scunthorpe’ to champion community pride.
These 24/7 lockers form part of Evri’s commitment to giving people access to every parcel every way. The presence of a new local locker gives people more choice in how and where to send and receive parcels, at a time that suits them, whether they’re dropping off a return during the morning commute or collecting an important gift late at night.
The installation forms part of Evri’s expanding locker network and supports its long-term plan to double the number of ParcelShops and lockers by 2030, designed to offer more choice to consumers alongside typical home delivery options. A host of these new lockers will feature unique local messages, designed to reflect the individuality and pride of the communities Evri serves. The greetings have been chosen to reflect something recognisable – and proudly local. Evri’s connections to local communities runs deep – the business traces its roots back 50 years to Bradford in West Yorkshire, and remains proud of its northern heritage.
The new installation supports Evri’s ambition to offer customers greater choice and control over how and where they send or receive their parcels – improving first time delivery success. Busy lifestyles mean many people aren’t home when couriers arrive, but lockers provide a convenient alternative that increases first-time delivery success. Customers can make use of a Evri’s preference options to tailor their deliveries, including:
Deliver directly to a secure locker – available 24/7 and ideal if you won’t be home
Use real-time diversions to reroute an out-for-delivery parcel
Nominate a safe place such as a shed, porch or garage
Add accessibility preferences such as requesting more time to get to the door
Evri is expanding its locker footprint across high-traffic locations such as Tesco stores, Motor Fuel Group forecourts and independent convenience stores, making it easier for customers to pick up, or drop off, their parcels while going about their daily routine or picking up essentials.
Locker deliveries can reduce missed deliveries and provide a safer option for customers who don’t have a suitable safe place at home. All new lockers come equipped with print-at-locker functionality enabling customers to print self-adhesive labels by scanning a QR code – ideal for those without a home printer.
Consumers can currently order directly to a locker through many of the UK’s top retailers, or divert out-for-delivery parcels to a nearby locker if they’re going to be out when they’re expecting a delivery. Soon, consumers will be able to add a preference to their Evri account enabling them to direct all parcels to a ParcelShop or Locker of their choice – great for those working nightshifts, working do-not-disturb jobs from home or those who are regularly out and about. Locker delivery is a safer alternative for many who don’t have a safe place – such as a shed - at home, so locker delivery can reduce the number of missed deliveries, whilst ensuring parcels are delivered safely and securely.
Evri now operates more than 12,000 ParcelShops and lockers nationwide and remains committed to expanding its network to meet growing consumer demand.
David Saenz, Chief Commercial Officer at Evri Group, said: ”We’re committed to helping our customers access every parcel in every way they wish. Lockers are a great option alongside home delivery and another way for people to send, collect and return parcels – they’re convenient, quick and fit around busy lives. We’re excited to bring a little bit of local personality to each one and we hope the new lockers in Scunthorpe will make life easier for people in the local community.”
The new locker is now live and ready to use. Customers can find their nearest Evri location at www.evri.com/find-an-evri-location.
