Back to the 40s for Getaway Club funds

A fun 1940s night saw 60 guests sit down to a sausage and mash supper, followed by a wartime pud, and raise £500 for the Getaway Club.

The evening was hosted by Miss Vera White Cliff and Miss Lynn Dover, played by Bruce Night and Cat Henton from the Session House, based at Spilsby Theatre, with Gwyn Williams as the spiv auctioneer for the evening, selling off some wartime dodgy goods like nylons and spam. Claudia Scarf entertained with her selection of songs from the 1940s.

Coningsby Lions also took part with comedy and sing along.

Thanks go to sponsors Dragon Sound and Vision, which provided the stage equipment, Coningsby Lions for the catering, Tesco Horncastle for donating apple pies, Alice Cousins photography and everyone else who helped with the evening to make a fun night out.
