Step up to join theatre staying closed until 2021

With the Covid-19 pandemic still having an enormous impact on everyone’s life, Sleaford Little Theatre’s trustees have agreed that the town’s Playhouse theatre will remain closed for the rest of 2020 and its planned programme will be rolled over to 2021.

Any tickets purchased through the Box Office (Animal Magic) for any cancelled performances can be refunded up to December 31, 2020.

The live theatre industry has particularly suffered from the ongoing government restrictions on shows due to coronavirus and the trustees said in a statement after meeting: “If in the unlikely event we can open earlier you will be notified through our normal channels, mainly our website or the display cabinet outside of the Playhouse.”

As soon as it is safe to do so they will be arranging a new date for their annual meeting when several trustees will be standing down, leaving vacancies for chairman, secretary, publicity manager and trustees without an identified specific role. These roles are vital to the continued success of Sleaford Little Theatre and if you become a member you can apply for any of these roles and help shape the future of the theatre.

Any role you are successfully appointed to, you will be supported by the rest of the committee.

They are also interested in anyone wanting to train as a backstage technician. This can be for sound or lighting, or both.

The trustees say: “We are always trying to identify funding opportunities to ensure the future of the historic Playhouse and now more than ever we are very keen to hear from anyone who has experience in this area and who is willing to help us in the role as a fundraising manager.”
