My Dad, George Orwell talk raises funds for local charity
When Louth Library had the honour of hosting a talk by Richard Blair, the son of George Orwell, back in September, Richard’s only stipulation was that any proceeds made by the sale of tickets was donated to a local charity.
The talk was a resounding success and after a full house the total amount generated was £461.00.

Karen Waring, Library Manager at Louth Library said:

"What an honour it was to meet Richard and hear him talk to his fellow patron of the Orwell Society Richard Keeble. They reminisced about his life as a child and how the family socialised with the likes of Ernest Hemingway and Henry Miller.
"It was kind of him to donate all the proceeds to our local charity and he was thrilled to hear how much we had raised."
