Two Sleaford primary schools report new cases of Covid-19 among pupils

Two more primary schools in Sleaford have reported cases of pupils testing positive for coronavirus.

William Alvey School and St Botolph’s School at Quarrington have both reported cases of the virus over the last 24 hours.

A statement by William Alvey School said: “ Yesterday (Wednesday) two of our children received positive COVID tests and today one of their siblings was also tested positive (Reception, Year 4 and Year 6), they were already isolating because one or both parents had previously been tested positive.

“All three children have been absent from school prior to their positive test for at least 48 hours. We contacted the Department of Education and local public health team and were advised that we need take no further action other than to ensure the children remain at home for a further 10 days from the date of the positive test.”

Carre’s Grammar School, Kesteven and Sleaford High School, St George’s Academy, Sir William Robertson Academy in Welbourn and Billingborough Primary School all also have positive cases currently where some students have been sent home to isolate.
