Christopher Wright launched a gofundme appeal for £25,000 during lockdown when a scan revealed his 37-year-old wife, Emma, only had 12 months to live.

The money is to pay for a road trip around Europe in a camper van that she had always dreamed of making.

So far the fund has reached more than £12,400 but now the family have received more devastating news. Christopher explained: "We are running out of time.

"We've had the last scan Em will ever have and she has been discharged from the surgeon and team.

"They are going to refer her to end of life care so it is as painless as possible.

"I wanted to update everyone and reach out to you because time is very limited.

"She has a two in 100 chance of reaching her next birthday and so, while she is well enough, we need to get her on the road.

"We have raised more than £12,000 but the level of medication she is on means the camper van needs to be a home on wheels.

"But she doesn't want to sit at home or in some hospice.

"So please, if you know anyone with a good camper van we can pay £10,000 for or know any way we can raise more money please get in touch.

"I'm reaching out to everyone - please help us."

Emma, has stage four terminal metastatic bowel cancer.

Christopher recalled: "After being Ill with increasing bad stomach pains and weight loss and knowing something was seriously wrong we went to the GP on numerous occasions asking for a CT scan. She finally got the scan she needed on April 17 during the lockdown.

"So after many tears with our children, much thought and emotional turmoil, she has decided - rather than spend that time sick in hospital or bed at home, bald and skeletally thin - to choose quality not quantity.

"Since then we have changed our lifestyle completely, including diet, trying homeopathic remedies from around the world and CBD oils to ease the pain and symptoms.

"Emma's last wish is to travel around the UK and maybe Europe, if it opens up, in a reliable motor home with myself and our son Boe, to see all the things she thought she would have decades to see.

"Being stuck in four walls with this prognosis and cancer in your mind every minute of the day and on the lips of everyone you see is no way to live your last moments on Earth, so I am putting my faith in God and the compassion of others to raise the money to make this happen for her, please."
