Luxury hamper offer on Twelve Market Days of Christmas in Sleaford to make up for Covid-cancelled event

With Covid-19 restrictions causing the Town Council to cancel this year’s main Christmas Market event, organisers have other treats in store to make up for it.

As part of their alternate Christmas celebrations this year in Sleaford, there will be Twelve Market Days of Christmas, hosting essential traders for customers to access in a Covid compliant environment.

These will be held from Friday November 27 through to Monday December 21 on the usual Monday, Friday and Saturday market days.

Further to this, they will be holding a Sleaford Virtual Christmas Market on Advent Sunday, November 29, on its dedicated Facebook page. There will be lots of traders advertising their wares and also some competitions.

The organisers will have special appearances virtually from the Sleaford Town Crier John Griffiths, who will be opening the event, as well as Christmas wishes from locally elected councillors.

A council spokesman addeD: “We are also pleased to announce that we will be giving away 12 special, luxury Christmas hampers on each day of the 12 special markets. All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is write your name, phone number and email address on a piece of paper and post it through the red letter box at the front of the Town Hall in Navigation Yard, off Carre Street, or alternatively post it to: Christmas Hamper Entry, Sleaford Town Council,

A draw will take place on each of the market days and the winner announced and contacted the same day. Entries will be accepted throughout the festive period. The first draw will be held on Friday November 27 and the last will be made on Monday December 21.

The Christmas lights in town will be switched on virtually by the Mayor of Sleaford, Coun Anthony Brand, on the traditional day at the start of Advent - Sunday, November 29 at 4pm. This will be shown on the Sleaford Virtual Christmas Market Facebook page on the day.
