Unused food from North Kesteven’s heritage venues that have closed due to Coronavirus is being put to good use.

Volunteers from the sites are donating it to Sleaford Food Larder to help keep people fed - at a time where foodbanks are under immense pressure from demand, a lack of donations and panic buying of important goods in shops.

Sleaford schools are also bailing out the Sleaford food bank by diverting free school meal funding to them to provide for the 600-plus children in need of these meals.

If you are aware or are part of any community activities in NK that are supporting vulnerable people, such as those helping to get supplies for them, share this with NKDC’s Partnerships Team.

They are gathering a database to help support these activities and identify any gaps, but also to support the work of the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum Community cell that has been established.

As and when there are service disruptions these will be detailed on the council’s current service disruptions page on its website.
