New show links Tetney singing coach with country music queen Dolly Parton

A vintage year for an East Lindsey singing coach has been capped by a prestigious link to late global superstar Dolly Parton.

During 2026, Cameron Richardson, who is based in Tetney, has made his TV debut by appearing as a judge in the BBC TV ‘Young Chorister Of The Year’ competition.

And he has expanded his own solo singing career as a pop artiste, releasing a new single, ‘Cathedral’, which can be found on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_ag9-WkSSU

But now comes the honour of his name being attached to the highly anticipated, new Broadway musical, ‘Dolly: A True Original Musical’, which has its opening night in New York on January 19.

‘Dolly’ is based on the life and career of country music icon, actress and philanthropist Dolly Parton, who died at the age of 80 in August.

And one of Cameron’s proteges from his vocal coaching business is starring in the show, playing Little Dolly.

She is 11-year-old Norah Nunes, from Texas, who is making her Broadway debut in the musical, although she has been a professional performer since the age of seven.

The part is perfect for Norah because, according to the show’s promotional material, “she spent some time with Dolly, sharing laughs, hugs and gummy bears”!

However, she also credits Cameron for his work with her, with the material saying: “Norah is eternally thankful to her vocal coach, Cameron Richardson, her team, her family and her friends for believing in her and supporting her dream, and also to the creative and production teams for this opportunity.”

Cameron has now been invited to the gala opening of ‘Dolly’, which is going to be worldwide news given the adulation that was heaped on the singer/songwriter when she passed away.

The recognition is another feather in Cameron’s cap as he forges a fast-growing reputation as one of the leading vocal coaches in the world.

He already has a connection with the USA because he was a scholar on the famous Fulbright cultural exchange programme.

Meanwhile, ‘Cathedral’ is earning good reviews, following the success of his previous singles, ‘The Other Side Of Blue’ and ‘Whatever The Weather’.

Cameron, who is head of musical theatre at Trinity College, Cambridge University, is set to perform in London during the run-up to Christmas, and has been invited back by the BBC as a ‘Young Chorister’ judge for next year.
