Bawtry: Eye-catching finale to fashion week as models send temperatures soaring

Anyone passing through Bawtry last weekend would have been forgiven for thinking that the bright sunshine was playing tricks with their eyes after four swimwear models stopped traffic on the town’s High Street.

The girls, who were part of flash lingerie and swimwear photo shoot by boutique & She Knows as part of Bawtry Fashion Week, emulated the famous Beatles Abbey Road scene as they posed in the balmy afternoon sunshine, concluding the week-long fashion extravaganza held by the towns retail association.

“The entire event has been a fantastic success with visitors flocking to the town to see our special events, sample our Bawtry Fashion Week champagne cocktail and indulge in a little retail therapy,” commented Rebecca Dickenson chairman of Bawtry Retail Association.

“The boutiques that were involved really pulled out all the stops and hosted some amazingly innovative events that will really put Bawtry on the map.”

During the week, fashion boutique Yasmine held a ‘Scarfarama’ day, while designer boutique Robinson’s hosted an online fashion show where items from their Ladies SS14 collections were modelled by Britain’s Next Top Model finalist Danielle Sandhu.

Incognito created three separate scenes in interior’s boutique Womack’s window - The Boardroom, Ladies that Lunch and Cocktails & Evening.

Dawn Farnell hosted three fashion shows in her store and her models then walked around the town enjoying the spring sunshine.

And hair stylists The Vanilla Rooms offered lessons on ‘How to do your hair like a celebrity’.

“We were thrilled to be part of Bawtry Fashion Week and wanted to make sure our contribution was remembered,” commented Emily Harbon of & She Knows.

“There was such a buzz about the town all week and it was a privilege to be part of such an exciting project.”

“Events such as these are all designed to promote the importance of shopping on your local high street and supporting your local daytime and night time economy,” added Rebecca.

“Our fashion retailers really embraced this and we are already looking forward to 2015.”

The fashion retailers were supported by many of the towns bars and restaurants who created special drinks, menus and treats for visitors to enjoy, including an after-show party, which was hosted by Ziniz.
