Campaign will focus on vehicle crime

Safer Neighbourhood officers across the Bolsover area are working together with a neighbouring police force in a bid to tackle auto crime.

Team members from the Creswell, Clowne and Bolsover beats have recently been working on Operation Barstow alongside officers from Nottinghamshire Police.

The cross border campaign focused on vehicle crime including theft and to target and deter opportunist offenders who might have been travelling through the two counties to commit crime.

PC Luke Christian, from the Creswell Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The proactive operation was a success and saw us join forces with colleagues in neighbouring Bolsover districts and Nottinghamshire to step up cross border patrols in a bid to deter vehicle crime.

“I would encourage local people to be vigilant to this type of crime and to report any suspicious activity to officers by calling 101.”
