Man jailed for controlling and coercive behaviour
A man has been jailed for controlling and coercive behaviour and intentional strangulation.
In a statement released by Lincolnshire Police, they reported that on Friday (November 21), 24-year-old Fenton Woods was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison having pleaded guilty last month at Lincoln Crown Court.

Counts of intentional suffocation and assault were left to remain on file. He was also handed a restraining order, said a police spokesperson.
According to the force, Woods, formerly of Skegness Road, Burgh le Marsh, had over a prolonged period told the victim what she could and could not wear, checked and monitored her phone, and locked her in a house.
Investigating officer, PC Ian Gibbs, said: "This has been a long and protracted enquiry into a sustained campaign of controlling behaviour, which has been deeply distressing and saddening.
"The offences, over a period of years, formed a persistent pattern of behaviour designed to instil fear and exert dominance.
"Throughout the investigation the victim has shown considerable courage - I’d like to pay tribute to her bravery in coming forward.
"This sends a clear message that controlling and coercive behaviour will not be tolerated, and I would encourage anyone suffering similar experiences to come forward and report it to us."
