Police in Boston make latest call for vigilance amid burglary reports

Police in Boston are asking people to remain vigilant after a number of reported burglaries in the town.

It follows two similar alerts last month – one at the start of the month and one towards the end.

Writing on its Facebook account earlier today (Wednesday, March 18), Boston Police said: “We are asking people to remain vigilant after a number of reported burglaries in Boston.

“The incidents are still being investigated and we are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry.

“However, as we seek to piece together what has happened, we are asking people to look out for each other and report anything that looks strange or suspicious in their communities.

“If you have an elderly or vulnerable neighbour, check in on them if they are comfortable with you doing so.”

“Thieves often target properties where gardens are overgrown and other signs of abandonment are visible,” the post continued.

“Staying in touch could prevent you and your neighbours from being burgled and losing precious sentimental items that are irreplaceable.”

Crimes can be reported to Lincolnshire Police by calling 101 or 999 in an emergency.
