Get involved with Alford Silver Band

Alford Silver Band will be holding its annual general meeting on Thursday, April 21.

Although voting on motions will be restricted to subscribing members of the band, attendance at the meeting is open to any member of the public who wishes to go along.

Chairman Martin Briggs explained that as it was a community band, he hoped as many people as possible would go along and get involved.

Mr Briggs said: “We are a community band and we like the community to be involved in the way we operate.”

The meeting is primarily to receive reports for the past year, elect officers for the ensuing year and to set the direction of the band for the next 12 months.

The meeting will be held in the band’s rehearsal centre on the far side of the car park behind the Co-op foodstore in Millers Way and will commence at 7.30pm.
