Invaders edge further ahead of the Fenmen

Ray Reeson, Rita Epton and Sue Hoyles picked up a hotshot to pull away to succeed 12-23, but this score was surpassed by Red 5’s Colin Price, Mandy Cook and Bob Lody, who scored a maximum on the first end before claiming an impressive 24-11 win.

In the T&B Containers Division Two, Nomads maintained top spot but saw their lead narrowed to three points.

Nomads came up against Jekyll and Hyde team the Golfers, who were having a good day as Barrie Williamson, Norman Ablard and Roy Vinter won 32-11, which covered the reply from Nomads’ Derek Smith (17-22).

Cosmos squeezed four points from their game against bottom team Vikings by just one shot thanks to Andrew Dunnington, who won 22-10.

Vikings must have been very disappointed with the result as they held the aggregate with just two ends remaining overall.

Boston Park were equal on points with Cosmos in second and they were still equal at the end of play with Autos.

Winning well were Ron Thacker, Nigel Taylor and Alan Batchelor (28-10).

Breakaways finished strongly against Dynamics for an overall success of 38-34.

Patriarchs versus Poachers saw higher team Poachers winning the additional points, Ray Woods’s 11-19 win bettered by Bob Tingey (23-7).

Amateurs, four points ahead of their opposition Central before the evening’s play, finished two points behind when they fell on both rinks with and overall success for Central of 37-26.

U3 met Hotspurs, the latter’s trio of Patsy O’Callaghan, Petra Wood and Roy Pepperdine successful 13-18.

Replying for U3, Michael Teasdale, Barbara Pell and Dave Fox ran away with the game to succeed 33-11.
