Channel 5's Secrets of the Christmas Factory goes behind the scenes at six key firms who are doing their bit to bring a bit of festive magic to all of us, including Boston'sTH Clements.

In Lincolnshire there are over 8,000 tonnes of Sprouts which are harvested every year for our Christmas dinner.

An hour of their production weighs as much as six reindeers – 1,000 kilos and in the run up to Christmas their 350-strong workforce works 24 hours a day. They start production for the festive period in February with seeds being planted in 1,000 acres.

Richard Mowbray, Commercial Director, said: “We harvest two and half tonnes in the two-week run up to Christmas.”

Secrets of the Christmas Factory is on Friday (20) at 8pm on Channel 5.
