Among those to capture the celestial light show last night (Thursday, October 10) were Molly Sunley and Sophie Lorenz, of Boston Rugby Football Club.
Molly, clubhouse manager, and Sophie, men’s manager, took the photographs after training at about 10pm, using just the night setting on their mobile phones.
Molly described the lights as ‘amazing to see’.
“We saw them briefly in May, but nowhere near as strong as last night,” she said. “We both considered driving back to the club at 1am, when an even stronger display started.
“With the lower light pollution from the pitches, it really was breathtaking to even see the colours with the naked eye.”
