Organisers said it pleasing to see so many people turn up to sit and have a chat over coffee and cake, and browse around the stalls.

District councillors Alex Hall and Stan Avison also popped in to meet local people.

Sophie Elton ran a highly successful tombola and Lynette Taylor, Jackie Elton, Connie Stennett and Coningsby and Tattershall Women’s Institute were the stallholders.

Plans of the hall in its different phases were on display along with photos, minute books and old trophies which had been presented to youth club members in the past.

The hall managers running the event were Bob and Tracey Farrington, Ray and Linda Kirk, Jenny Lawes and Janet Harrison.
